Welcome to the My Distinctive Insider's Guide project

Walking down the main shopping streets of cities nowadays one can see the same shops with the same products all over the world. You don't even have to go out anymore to buy the products of the big brand names, you can simply buy them online. Globalization has brought a kind of "boredom" to the frequent global traveler and shopper and it has become harder and harder to find the more typical shops and locations and to find a characteristic individual gift or souvenir or a genuine local product.

So where is the fun in shopping when you are traveling when you can find the same product at home? Where can you go if you want to taste a typical dish and not just the same stuff from a fast food or coffee shop you can have everywhere? Where can you learn about the lifestyle of the locals? Where do you go if you frequently visit a city for business and you already know the must-sees and you have already done what you find in an "ordinary" city guide?

The project called the My Distinctive Insider's Guide has been launched just for that purpose! A typical but hidden face of a city is shown, one that is usually made known to the inhabitants only: a city viewed through the eyes of an insider. Our guides show the local shops, the restaurants and bars that are not only frequented by tourists, the places of interest that the local people visit which also reveal interesting details of the local habits, trends and lifestyle.

My Distinctive Insider's Guides are written by people who have lived in a particular city for several years and are not necessarily natives but expatriates. Having an international background and also widely traveled, they have a deeper understanding of the expectancies of foreign business travelers or high class tourists. Our authors combine the "Insider's" knowledge of their respective cities with sophisticated choice and luxurious international taste.
