Copenhagen

Denmark has a population of 5.3 million people, of whom seven per cent are of foreign origins. 1.7 million people live in the Greater Copenhagen Area.

Copenhagen consists of a multitude of areas, each with its own charm, history and distinctive character. Together they make up a dense urban fabric. Though different, the areas have three features in common. The presence of water, parks and bicycle paths.

Though there is evidence that Copenhagen existed as a settlement over 6,000 years ago, its first written record did not come until 1043.
